Overview

The Physical Therapist provides rehabilitation and therapeutic care services within a Military Treatment Facility in Misawa, Japan. This role focuses on improving patient mobility, function, and quality of life while supporting the health and operational readiness of military personnel and beneficiaries.

 

*Position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, orthopedic, and functional impairments.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment programs based on patient needs and goals.
  • Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, mobility training, and rehabilitation services.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Educate patients on injury prevention, rehabilitation techniques, and home exercise programs.
  • Document patient evaluations, treatment sessions, and progress notes in the electronic medical record.
  • Coordinate patient care with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, clinical meetings, and continuing education.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and DHA/DoD policies.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards at all times.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current, valid, unrestricted Physical Therapist license in any U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of one year of recent clinical experience preferred.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Experience in orthopedic, outpatient, sports medicine, or rehabilitation settings preferred.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and patient care skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
  • Ability to meet Government credentialing, security, and health screening requirements.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and support mission requirements.
