Overview

The Physical Therapist provides evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and preventative care services to military personnel, dependents, and other authorized beneficiaries at a Military Treatment Facility in Yokota, Japan. The Physical Therapist works collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to restore patient function, reduce pain, improve mobility, and support operational readiness.

 

*Position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, gait training, and functional rehabilitation.
  • Assess patient progress and modify treatment plans based on clinical outcomes.
  • Educate patients and family members regarding treatment goals, injury prevention, home exercise programs, and recovery expectations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record system.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
  • Participate in patient case reviews, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with DHA, DoD, Joint Commission, and facility-specific policies and procedures.
  • Maintain treatment areas, equipment, and supplies in accordance with safety and infection control standards.
  • Support operational readiness initiatives for active-duty service members.
  • Participate in required orientation, annual competencies, and continuing education activities.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
  • Current, valid, unrestricted Physical Therapist license in any U.S. state or territory.
  • Minimum of one year of recent clinical experience as a Physical Therapist preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Experience working in outpatient orthopedic, sports medicine, or rehabilitation settings preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Ability to independently evaluate and manage a diverse patient population.
  • Ability to comply with all Government credentialing, health screening, and installation access requirements.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules based on mission requirements.
