Position Title: Sr. Civil Project Engineer / Manager
Type of Employment: Part-time, Minimum of 20 hours per week
Location: Remote
Salary & Benefits: Standard benefits pro - rated. Salary and additional benefits are negotiable, dependent on experience. Salary range may be from $102,500 ($50.00/hr) to $140,400 ($67.50/hr).
This position is dedicated to achieving the goals of technical excellence and client satisfaction through leading project teams. Successful applicants will establish and maintain strong working relationships by collaboratively and effectively communicating with internal staff and strategic clients. Characteristics of this position include a proven technical ability as well as being able to inspire teamwork, deliver successful projects on time and under budget and maintain strong client working relationships. Other responsibilities may include:
• Technical competency with the ability to make difficult design decisions.
• Serve as a technical resource expert in a civil engineering field.
• Serve as a senior project engineer and perform duties associated with these roles.
• Serve as the civil engineering project manager on multi-discipline, integrated projects.
• Serve as the prime project manager and lead/collaborate with a project team of employees and subconsultants to ensure our service delivery addresses client needs.
• Act as the primary point of contact and coordinator for business development pursuits, service delivery, and client engagement for local and/or federal clients.
• Actively participate in preparation of project fee proposals and client interviews.
• Motivate and engage a team of peers to assist with strategic pursuits.
• Promote Kaula AE through exposure at local conferences and committees.
Working with a team of professionals consisting of engineers, architects and scientists, the engineering position will be conducting feasibility studies, preparing preliminary engineering reports, designing and stamping civil engineering plans along with preparing the specifications and other construction documents, preparing engineering cost estimates, obtaining the permits and approvals needed for construction and following through during bidding, construction and operations of the design.
Travel may be required on a limited basis to support ongoing engineering projects within the States of California, Hawaii and elsewhere for our federal DOD and NPS work
Work Experience:
Ideal candidates will have strong technical background and planning, design, management, and business development experience with federal and local government agencies. Leadership and entrepreneurial spirit will be critical to providing superior service to our clients and developing a strong civil engineering service business line.
Highly desirable candidates will have a variety of civil engineering experience, diverse project management experience, a professional familiarity with the local and federal market in California, and a keen ability to develop and motivate teams and move projects forward towards completion.
