Overview

Location: Maxwell AFB - 42nd Medical Group

 

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week.

 

Pay: Between $90,000/year - $110,000/year

*Position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

  • The Chiropractor will utilize X-ray and standard laboratory tests appropriate to the chiropractic diagnosis and within the MTF's capabilities as detailed by the standard MTF operating procedures.
  • Conduct a patient history and chiropractic physical examination as clinically indicated.
  • Radiological examinations shall be limited to Musculo-skeletal radiographs, skull series, chest (PA and lateral views) and rib series.
  • MRI and CT studies of the spine and Bone Scans may be ordered following protocols established by the department of orthopedics.
  • Lab tests shall be limited to SMA6, UA/C&S, Occult Blood, Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate and Complete Blood Count.
  • Refer patients to specialty services available at the MTF.
  • The Chiropractor will perform peer reviews as per MTF policy.
  • Place active-duty patients on quarters for a maximum of 72 hours.
  • The Chiropractor will participate in weekly meetings to review and evaluate the care provided to patients, identify opportunities to improve the care delivered, and recommend corrective action when problems exist.
  • Utilize Government systems technology for data input and retrieval (orders, lab results).
  • Upon receipt of the results (normal or abnormal) from ordered laboratory tests or diagnostic imaging reports, the results must be relayed to the patient within 48 hours of receipt.
  • Any slippage must have adequate justification.
  • Provide patient instructions and recommendations in all matter pertaining to nutrition, exercise, lifestyle changes and ergonomic factors in the actives of daily living.

Qualifications

  • Shall read, understand, speak, and write English fluently.
  • Doctor of Chiropractic. Graduate from college or university accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education.
  • Shall have a minimum of two (2) years within the past three (3) years of experience in both diagnostic and treatment services.
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Doctor of Chiropractic.
