Overview

Location: Maxwell AFB - 42nd Medical Group - Mental Health Clinic

 

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week.

 

Pay: Between $130,000/year - $200,000/year

*Position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

  • The Psychologist will practice within the guidelines of their state licensing board, American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and MTF privileges.
  • Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources, as appropriate.
  • Establish psychiatric diagnoses according to the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders.
  • The Psychologist will provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries.
  • Assist in rehabilitation of patients.
  • Will perform walk-in duties on a rotational schedule.
  • Will be required to perform psychological testing and necessary testing results. The Psychologist will provide training to junior providers/enlisted upon request.
  • Seek to improve the clinic by contributing to innovation and is expected to see evidence-based training/certificates for application of most up to date treatment modalities

Qualifications

  • Shall read, understand, speak, and write English fluently.
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) Graduate from an American Psychology Association accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology.
  • Internship: Successful completion from an internship in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association.
  • Experience: Must have one (1) year experience post-licensure in the last two (2) years in the evaluation and treatment of adult patients mental and emotional disorders. As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions.
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any state, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or US Virgin Islands.
