Overview

Location: Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune and associated branch clinics

Pay: Between $130/hr - $140/hr

Hours of Performance: Services shall normally be provided Monday through Friday between the hours of 0700 and1700. Services will be required on four (4) Saturdays and Sundays during the Period of Performance (POP) between the hours of 0800 and 1700. Shift times are approximate and will be altered as necessary by the supervisor to ensure adequate staffing coverage during normal clinic hours and to complete treatment of end-of-the-day patients. In no instance will the HCWs be required to provide services in excess of 80 hours per two-week period.

Responsibilities

HCW Duties (5.1.a Task 1): The specific duties for the HCW are as follows:

 

5.1.a. Task 2: The MTF Director will enroll to the contractor Physician approximately 1200 TRICARE Prime enrollees each for whom they shall provide Primary Care Manager (PCM) functions.

 

5.1.a. Task 3: The Pediatrician at the Pediatric Clinic will not be privileged for hospital admissions nor care for inpatient pediatric patients.

 

5.1.a. Task 4: Function with an awareness and application of safety procedures.

 

5.1.a. Task 5: Apply an awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and strive to manage situations in a reduced risk manner.

 

5.1.a. Task 6: Participate in the implementation of the Family Advocacy Program as directed. Participation shall include, but not be limited to, appropriate medical examination, documentation, and reporting.

 

5.1.a. Task 7: Participate in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Provide training and/or clinical direction as applicable to supporting Government employees (e.g., hospital corpsmen, students, etc.).

 

5.1.a. Task 8: Exercise appropriate clinical delegation of tasks and duties in the direction and coordination of health care team members, patient care, and clinic activities.

Qualifications

  • Degree/Education: Successful completion of a residency program in Pediatrics which has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association or those Canadian training programs approved by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or other appropriate Canadian medical authority.
  • Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: Possess a current certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Experience: Possess a minimum of two-years full-time experience working as Pediatrician.
  • Board Certification: Possess current board certification in Pediatric Medicine.
  • Licensure/Registration: Possess a current unrestricted license to practice as a Pediatrician in one of the fifty states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
